Brunnduhl in his true form

Brunnduhl is a Nord member of the Fighters Guild who can be found at the Everlasting Fair. He was part of the squad that was investigating the area for Worm Cult activity, only to get caught up in the Lady of Riot's shenanigans.

When you finally catch up with him, he will not be his usual self.

Quest Related Events

After speaking with Sergeant Alydine, you learn that several members of her squad became trapped in the Everlasting Fair and are unable to leave. She suggests you search for their Alfiq scout Sashii at the fair. Mingling with the attendees leads you to meeting a talking goat, who says the Lady of Riot has taken over the fair and has been changing things to satiate her ego.

The goat agrees to help you with the squad members in return for finding parts of the broken Rod of Revels. While searching Misfortune Teller's Garden, you find a note from Brunnduhl, which claims that he was turned into a monkey and that he took the piece of the rod with him from the prize chest.

Brunnduhl as a Monkey

After traversing the Ogrim's Parade, you find one half of the rod and go and find Sashii to update her on your progress. She will help you track Brunndul to the docks, by following the trail of bananas. When you find the monkey, Sashii will approach him:

Sashii: "Brunnduhl! Is that you? It's Sashii."

Brunnduhl: <Agitated monkey noises.>

Sashii: "Sashii doesn't think Brunnduhl likes her this way. You talk to him, walker."

You can then speak with Brunnduhl to try and calm him down:

<The monkey looks agitated. It stares at you with wide, suspicious eyes.>

It's all right, Brunnduhl. I'm a friend of Sashii's. We've been looking for you.

<You get a sense the monkey understands what you're saying. It looks past you at the Orc.>

That's right, it's Sashii. Come with us and we'll find a way to fix this.

<The monkey seems to calm down. You can see a human intelligence behind its eyes.>

Don't worry, we'll figure this out.

At this, the Lady of Riot will appear on top of a large crate in a shower of glass:

Brunnduhl: <Monkey screams.>

Lady of Riot: "Boo! You're too late, I already took the rod from that stupid monkey. It's in a much better hiding place now!"

Sashii: "That's her, the Lady of Riot! Run, Brunnduhl!"

<Sashii and Brunnduhl run away.>

Lady of Riot: "You'll never escape my fair! And my revelers are oozing to deal with that old goat skulking around the shipwreck!"

<The Lady of Riot disappears.>

You can find the Goat on a nearby dock and he works out where the Lady of Riot has hidden the other piece of the rod. After claiming it from Blood'N'Baubles, you can bring the parts to the Goat who will restore the Rod of Revels. You can then use the Rod to find the Tent of Dark Joy where the Lady of Riot and the last missing squad member, Ethrolo are. While you go to confront the Lady of Riot, Sashii stay behind to look after Brunnduhl.

After you defeat the Lady of Riot, you can restore the Rod of Revels to its proper place and the Goat will generously open a portal for you and Ethrolo to leave. Going through the portal, you will find yourself in the main fairgrounds where Sashii, Brunnduhl and Ethrolo are waiting.

The trio is still in their transformed state:

Sashii: "Over here, friend! We're still like this!"

Ethrolo: "I wasn't cut out for life as a puppet!"

Sashii: "Sashii knew the goat could not be trusted!"

<The goat appears out of a nearby portal.>

Goat: "Yowling away as usual, I see. Just a moment."

Brunnduhl: <monkey scream>

<Green energy and runes surround the trio and when the light fades they are restored to their true forms.>

Brunnduhl: "Kyne above! Is it over?"

Sashii: "At last! Sashii has her dignity again!"

Speaking to Brunnduhl before Sashii:

"Bah, my head hurts. I could really use something to soothe me. Like a nice, sweet banana.
Er, no. That's not right. I meant a drink. I need a drink."

Talking to Brunnduhl before completing the quest:

"I hate to ask, but … do you have any bananas? Sorry, no that's not what I meant to say!
Thanks for your help in there. Without it, I might still be a monkey. I'm sure the cravings will stop soon. Nothing to worry about, certainly."

After you have completed the quest, the Goat will have some final words for the group. Speaking to Brunnduhl before leaving the fair:

"<Monkey noise> It's fine! Just a hiccup. It'll pass. Hopefully."
