"She was kind, immeasurably so. I suspect she had overcome a great sorrow, for she had a way of finding the light in the darkest of times. The good in the cruelest of souls. And she was strong, in body and heart. Strong enough to brave anything." —Nahfahlaar on Ja'darri

Ja'darri the Endless (also known the Endless One[1] and in the dragon tongue as Toshrakhat), was an ancient Khajiiti hero who founded Pridehome and formed the Pride of Alkosh.[2][3] She bore the Mask of Alkosh, a relic capable of granting the bearer immhense power when tapped into by a Dragon.

In life, Ja'darri was born under the Dark Moons, and thus was of the Mane furstock but ultimately was not destined to become the spiritual leader of the Khajiit.[4] Later on in her life, Ja'darri found that she could hear the beating of Lorkhaj's heart and that she was slowly becoming a dro-m'Athra.[4] She had decided to make her way to the Sands Behind the Stars before she was fully lost, but instead she underwent a trial with Khenarthi 's blessing to fight her inner darkness. To do this, she was granted the blessing of a blade and lamp that were imbued with Alkosh's power. The Halls of the Highmane were built to reflect to Ja'darri's internal trials.[4]

She succeeded in overcoming her inner darkness, and was granted the Mask of Alkosh along with a task by the Dragon King of Time as his champion. She was to use the mask's power to extinguish a creature that threatened to unravel all of time: Laatvulon, the Demon from the East.[1][4] To undertake this task, Pridehome was founded and many warriors gathered under her banner; additionally she made allies of two important powers of the time—Reman's Dragonguard lead by Vashu-Pir and the dragon Nahfahlaar.[5][6][7][8][9][3]

The unlikely alliance with a dragon came about when Ja'darri sought Nahfahlaar out for his assistance in fighting his ancient rival Laatvulon. Over time, Nafaalaar grew to respect Ja'darri greatly, giving her a Dragon name and granting her a boon in the form of his horn, which was later named after her.[8] However these advantages and allies were not enough to defeat Laatvulon, so Ja'darri asked Nahfahlaar to empower the Mask of Alkosh which he refused and ultimately would regret.[8]

Ja'darri and the Dragonguard were left to fight Laatvulon with limited power and their final battle came about at Doomstone Keep.[8][9] While the Dragonguard were able to subdue and imprision Laatvulon, it cost Ja'darri her life and she died during the battle.[10] Upon death, she was said to join Alkosh in a realm beyond even the Sands Behind the Stars.[10]

In the year 2E 582, Laatvulon had been freed from his imprisonment and was wreaking havoc on Southern Elsweyr, along with the formation of the Order of the New Moon cult.[11] The Vestige had become allies with Nahfahlaar and gradually learnt the story of Ja'darri. This culminated in them entering a realm known as the Spilled Sand, seeking to imbue the Mask of Alkosh in order to stop Laatvulon.[12] Ja'darri's spirit was waiting for them and under her guidance, the two performed a ritual to imbue the mask and would ultimately defeat Laatvulon and later Kaalgrontiid.[12]
