Newts are a species of scaley amphibians comparable to salamanders.[1] They are the namesake of Newt Cave in the Nibenay Basin.[2][3]

River-Newt scale armor is used by Imperial guards in Nibenay,[UOL 1][UOL 2] and this Imperial Newtscale armor has seen use throughout Tamriel.[4][5][6][7] Eye of newt is used in alchemical brews created by witches.[8] Abnur Tharn, the Nibenese Imperial Battlemage, once claimed he could turn people into newts.[9]
