A Sorcerer using Storm Calling

Sorcerers are magic users who draw their power primarily from the planes of Oblivion. They make use of Conjuration to summon Daedra to aid them, and they curse their enemies using Dark Magic. Many sorcerers have perfected a kind of unique elemental magic called Storm Calling, utilizing the power of lightning to become consummate combat mages. The magical disciplines of sorcerers are known collectively as sorcery.

Although Dark Magic is often associated with "evil wizards" in the common parlance, it serves as a necessary safeguard against the power of rogue sorcerers by negating, draining, and preying upon the magicka of other mages. It also serves as a useful tool to counter the spells of Daedra.
