Twil is an obscure place associated with King Hrol and Duke Quarl.[1][2]

History[edit]

Birth of the Alessian Empire[edit]

According to the official records of the First Empire when Empress Alessia's forces captured White-Gold Tower, all the dangerous magical relics of the Ayleids were taken and destroyed. Duke Quarl of Twil maintained until his last breath that an Elf King had fled with the chief artifacts.[2]

Birth of the Reman Empire[edit]

Remanada states that Hrol was a king from lands beyond the lost Twil who along with sixteen western questing knights, set out to heal the borders of his forbears as he had visions of the Akaviri Invasion that was to come. At a point within the journey, Hrol and his men came upon the spirit of the Slave Queen, Empress Alessia who bore the Dragonfire Covenant in one hand, and the Amulet of Kings in the other. In a perhaps mad, divine driven attempt to restore the Empire unity of old, Hrol made union unto a hillock which he believed Alessia's spirit resided in, eventually leading to birth of Reman. Two of his companions returned to their homeland beyond Twil said nothing about Hrol, and acted ashamed for him.[1]

Notes[edit]

  • A quote from Michael Kirkbride King Hrol (seeker/Healer of Kingdom), "from the lands beyond lost Twil". Twil as Twilight. Grey Maybe. Aurbis. His knights numbered "eighteen less one," the number of the Hurling Disk. links Twil to Twilight and Gray Maybe,[UOL 1] a term used to refer to Nirn,[3] Mundus,[4] and Aurbis on varying ocasions.[3] He also linked the name to Bendu Olo, and asserted that he likes the name Twil as it is short, magical, and always in the west.[UOL 2]
