Quick Walkthrough[edit]
- Head to Ald'ruhn and speak to Huntmaster Sorim-Nakar.
- Hunt down and deal with the dangerous ash beetle.
- Return to Ald'ruhn for your reward.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
Huntmaster Sorim-Nakar at Ald'ruhn may offer you this daily quest once you have completed Ashlander Relations. He will ask you to hunt down a dire ash beetle, a deadlier variation of the typical shalk. This beetle has been named Ash-Eater and can be found in the Ashlands east of the Erabenimsun Camp.
The huntmaster advises you to disturb the shalk mounds to attract the attention of Ash-Eater. Once you reach the area marked on your map, you will find many mounds which can be smashed. Doing so may reveal a very angry shalk who will attack. However, these are not your targets. After you have smashed a random number of mounds, Ash-Eater will appear nearby. It can be distinguished from generic shalk due to its coloration—it has the same appearance as a grey assassin beetle. Kill it and return to the huntmaster for your daily reward coffer.
Notes[edit]
- The quest area is accessed from the south, heading northwest from Molag Mar Wayshrine.

- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
