Chief Gruthar

Chief Gruthar is a Sea Giant who is the boss of the Frozen Coast.

Upon approach, a group of Frostbite Raiders and a wolf can be seen attacking him, in vain. Entering the arena causes him to slam the ground with his axe, unleashing a massive frozen wave that kills them all. If you are caught in it, it deals damage and knocks back, but it's not an ability he will repeat during the actual fight.

Skills and Abilities

Spin Strike

A basic melee attack dealing moderate physical damage.

Pummel

A stronger basic melee attack dealing slightly more damage than Spin Strike.

Lunge

If standing far away, Chief Gruthar glows red and performs a sprinting attack that deals high damage.

Uppercut

A melee attack that deals very high physical damage and knocks you back if it connects. This attack can be blocked to knock the enemy off balance.

Shout

Chief Gruthar shout at its target, indicated by a quickly growing red cone, dealing moderate damage and sending the target flying back far away, likely into the frozen water surrounding the arena.

Dialogue

When you enter combat, he says one of the following:

Chief Gruthar: "Hroag jarn rot! Your meat stinks of fear!"

Chief Gruthar: "No one plunders our seas but us, frug!"

Chief Gruthar: "The Frozen Coast is ours!"
