Infinite Archive

You can find them during the completion of the Archive. They serve as a merchant there.

As they appear after you clear a stage, they may say one of the following:

Filer Xess: "I see you're proving your worth. Glad to see other entities doing their share around here."

Filer Xess: "Almost no one in the archive has martial skills. It's a good thing you came along."

Filer Xess: "Don't forget to make your choice before traveling to the next wing of the archive."

Filer Xess: "I heard you fought well. Your rewards are here if you want them."

You can talk to them:

"I'm not going to say that you need to take the Verses. But even if you were strong enough to easily dispatch the maligraphies, would you want to look a gift from Hermaeus Mora in the eye and turn it down?"

"It's not every day that we get to stop our work. The whole situation is honestly a little annoying, and also very exciting.
The next time you see a maligraphy, wallop it for me."

"Take all the advantages you can get. I think Tho'at Replicanum is noticing your abilities and creating stronger maligraphies."

As you travel through the Archive you can encounter them as you fight:

Filer Xess: "Which tome was affected?"

Filer Xess: "You're ensured to do your part, I merely seek to oversee it."

Filer Xess: "Prepare your mind for our crusade."

Filer Xess: "Which name is preferable? Ink slayer? Text wrangler?"

Filer Xess: "I must perceive the forthcoming. For the accounts."

While you're fighting:

Filer Xess: "Attend to the fray."

Filer Xess: "You almost make it look easy."

Filer Xess: "Can you justify your movements? For our records."

Filer Xess: "Don't let me distract you."

Filer Xess: "Please resist all temptations for destruction."

Filer Xess: "All this fighting. How are you not tired?"

Filer Xess: "You move so fluidly, I wonder how many years that took to master."

Filer Xess: "I studied mortal combats. It seems enjoyable."

Filer Xess: "Maligraphies remain? So will I."

Filer Xess: "You're so deadly with so few appendages. That's not common."

Filer Xess: "I hate to be right, but I don't think the maligraphies are done."

Filer Xess: "I must admit, you are killing them quickly."

Filer Xess: "Modulate yourself for a tactical advantage."

Filer Xess: "More maligraphies incoming. Prepare yourself!"

When you are fighting in a fire stage:

Filer Xess: "The thermic differences between her and the Index Chamber are unpleasant."

When you completed a stage:

Filer Xess: "Ah, so that is how you resolve this conflict."

Filer Xess: "It is less egregiously hostile here."

Filer Xess: "You protected eons of knowledge from devastation."

Filer Xess: "Is safety assured? No enemies left upright? Excellent."

Filer Xess: "Your reward is justified and waits there patiently, mortal."

Filer Xess: "This was my wing to file. I'm glad to see it's largely undisturbed."

Replication Elimination

After the first completion of the Infinite Archive, Filer Xess can appear instead of Master Malkhest after you defeat a boss to retrieve it's nymic part.

Filer Xess: "Oh good, the maligraphy's gone. I can fetch the fragment and return to arranging my wings of the archive."

Filer Xess: "Where is the nymic fragment? Oh, there it is. Master Malkhest says you do good work."

Filer Xess: "My turn to pick the nymic fragment out of an ink puddle. I'm ecstatic."

Filer Xess: "Master Malkhest needs this fragment and you need a portal. Mortals always need something."
