Quest-Related Events[edit]

You can speak with a worried Nithima at Sunport Docks, who asks you to travel to the ruins leading to the Ossein Cage and speak with Kiruk:

"Are you the latest recruit Nithima found? Hmm. I hope you can stand up to the task."
I was told you could tell me about the initiative.
"Captain Lyn wants to meet all recruits, but I can say more. There is a terrifying relic in the Ossein Cage. We fear that Molag Bal or the Worm Cult will use it against Tamriel.
Before we talk more, did Nithima promise you a reward?"
Yes, she did.
"Good. This mission will only succeed if we have complete trust in each other. Captain Lyn says that nothing feeds trust more than clear expectations and honesty.
Take your reward and know that we are grateful you made it this far."

Dialogue[edit]

If spoken to before accepting Ossified Bravery:

"Ossein Cage, what a dreadfully cold place. Fighting keeps my blood warm and flowing, but even in the heat of battle I felt the chill."

Once the quest Ossified Bravery is completed, you can ask Kiruk the following questions:

"I'm glad Captain Lyn decided to recruit more warriors. The Ossein Cage is not a place to take lightly. And the relic inside, the Dolorous Cista? It turns my fur white.
We were prepared to face untold danger, but still, who could prepare for that?"
What happened in the Ossein Cage?
"It was horrible. I'll never forget the sounds of the bones crunching underfoot as we fought Molag Bal's hoard [sic].
But then the Dolorous Cista floated in. That turned the tide of battle against us."
The Dolorous Cista?
"The reason this mission exists in the first place. The captain will tell you more.
Just know that there are good friends of mine still in that accursed place. If I could, I would go back to them, but I cannot. So you must steel yourself."
Tell me about Captain Lyn.
"They saved my life. Pulled me out of that fight by the scruff of my neck and waited until I calmed down before rattling off every injury I had.
Being forced to sit out of the fight always stings the ego, but the captain cares about us."
Can you tell me anything else about the Dolorous Cista?
"It's a creation of Coldharbour. If it ever came into this realm …. Let us hope that never happens.
The feeling of dread when it fed on my suffering and pain will take a long time to leave me."
It fed on your suffering?
"Yes. The others may not believe me, but I know what I felt. It devoured my pain without lessening it. The cista feasted on my fear without comforting me. If I died in there, it would be in excruciating agony with no respite.
A terrible fate."

If you speak to him after completing Vault of Agony, he will comment:

"I heard the others talk about returning to the Fighters Guild in Sunport, but I hardly believe my ears.
I saw some warriors come back through the portal. Fewer than I wanted to see, but more than would have returned without you."
