Mortas

Mortas is a Nede vampire and member of the Nighthollow Clan who can be encountered in the Halls of Arkthzand during the quest The End of Eternity.

Skills and Abilities

At the start of combat, two Shade Brutes erupt from the floor to assist Mortas. When Mortas dies, a strong Shade Colossus is summoned.

Gloam Slash

A basic melee attack that deals low magic damage.

Shrike Bash

A basic melee attack that deals slightly more magic damage than "Gloam Slash".

Uppercut

An Uppercut-like attack that deals moderate physical damage and knocks back. This attack can be blocked to stagger Mortas instead but you get applied "Grasping Void" for 2 seconds.

Grasping Void

Deals minor magic damage over time, snares and sets your Health Regeneration to 0 until it disappears.

Shade Aura

Mortas plants his weapon into the ground and channels a spell, indicated by a large growing red circle. When reaching max size, the pool of shadows explodes, dealing high magic damage and stunning affected targets. This can be interrupted to stagger Mortas.

Binding Shadows

Mortas holds his weapon close to them and releases pulsing shadows along the ground, indicated by traveling red circles, going in four directions, dealing moderate magic damage and stunning each.

Quest-Related Events

He can be found guarding entrance to the laboratory in the Halls of Arkthzand. He summons two Shade Brutes at the start of the fight:

Verandis Ravenwatch: "Careful! That Nighthollow vampire radiates with the power of the Dark Heart!"

Mortas: "Vengeance for Lady Belain!"

Upon dying, he will summon a powerful Shade Colossus and exclaim:

Mortas: "Witness what a taste of the Dark Heart can do!"
