Ashen Remains are the remnants of bones burned using the Crematorium in Ebrocca. They cannot be collected from any creatures or plants, but the Crematorium can be used to generate many Ashen Remains, limited only by the availability of bones and of Bone Shards.

Notes[edit]

  • Various bone-like items can be used to make Ashen Remains, including clutter from the basegame Oblivion and Shivering Isles (regular common skeleton bones, the Fractured Humerus, and the Shambles Skull), while unique bones, such as those of Mathieu Bellamont's mother, Svenja, or quest-specific bones such as the West Weald Bear Fangs cannot. Bone Shards are also the only ingredient that can be used to make Ashen Remains, where Bone Marrow, Bone Meal, Hound Teeth, and Daedroth Teeth are not changed.
  • This is one of the few ingredients that Mirili Ulven does not want for the quest Taxonomy of Obsession.
  • This is the only ingredient anywhere in the game to have a Weakness to Fire effect, and because it is not the first effect, no poison can be created with the effect.
  • Ashen Remains can be combined with Wormwood Leaves to create a Fortify Fatigue potion at novice alchemy skill. These are the only two ingredients with this effect at novice level; at journeyman level Flour and Worm's Head Cap also add this effect.
