Teldryn Sero, a Dark Elf Spellsword, is a mercenary found in the Retching Netch. He can be hired as a follower for 500 gold.
He wears a full set of light chitin armor, including the cuirass, boots, bracers, and helmet. He carries an elven sword and an elven dagger.
Teldryn knows the Conjuration spell Conjure Flame Atronach, the Destruction spells Firebolt and Flames, and the Restoration spells Fast Healing and Steadfast Ward. His first move in combat is to summon a flame atronach. He usually alternates between using his sword and his Destruction spells dealing fire damage.
He grew up in Blacklight in Morrowind. He claims he once met Saint Jiub, making him over 200 years old. At some point he moved to Windhelm's Gray Quarter before eventually moving to Raven Rock. According to him, his chitin armor was especially made for him by Grendis Rolovo, one of the finest master armor smiths in Morrowind.

Dialogue[edit]
When you first meet him, he may greet you with one of the following lines:
- "Teldryn Sero, blade for hire. If you have the coin, I'm at your service."
- "The best swordsman in all Morrowind is at your service... for the right price."
- "Don't pass up on this opportunity, outlander. I'm worth every coin."
- "I've got swords, spells and a few other tricks up my sleeve. You'll find I'm full of surprises."
If you don't have enough gold to hire him, he'll reply,
- "Unless you have enough coin on you, I'm not going anywhere."
If you do have enough gold, he'll respond,
- "Then let's be off!"
If you have dismissed him and approach him again, he'll greet you with:
- "I was enjoying our travels together before we parted company. I'd be happy to rejoin you for no charge... if you're interested."
If you choose to rehire him, it will be free and he will tell you,
- "Lead the way."
As a Follower[edit]
While Teldryn is your active follower, you can ask him how he ended up on Solstheim:
- How did you end up on Solstheim?
- "Long story, but I don't see the harm in sharing it with you. My last patron was a true Nord. He was dressed in animal skins, had tattoos on his face... a real traditional type, if you know what I mean. He had an insatiable bloodlust and was extremely stubborn... one of the toughest employers I've ever had."
- Why did you work for him then?
- "Simple... he paid well. Very well. Anyway, we'd just cleared a ruined fort somewhere outside of Whiterun and when we got outside, we saw one of them galloping away on horseback. Well, my boss wasn't about to let him get away, so we pursued... on foot, for three days."
- Until?
- "Until we ended up tracking him to one of the largest bandit encampments I'd ever seen. My patron took one look at me, and made the most menacing grin I'd ever seen. At that moment, I knew I'd never see him again. No amount of money would ever be worth that kind of death."
If you ask him to do something, he'll say, "What do you have in mind?" If you talk to him before giving a command, he'll say, "Did you still want me to help you or not?" If you tell him yes, he'll say, "Very well." If you tell him no, he'll say, "You're the boss." When you tell him to do something, he'll say, "Right away.", "That's not going to happen.", or "I don't care how much you're paying me, there's no way I'm doing that." He'll then ask, "Anything else?" If you tell him you need to trade some things with him, he'll say, "If it'll help us get moving quicker, sure." If you tell him to wait where he is, he'll say, "You're going ahead without me? Suit yourself..." While he's waiting, he'll say, "You better not be gone long." and "Make it quick, I don't like this waiting game." If you tell him you want to part ways, he'll say "Oh fine, go on... leave me here. When you decide to return to your senses, you know where to find me." When you exit conversation while he's following you, he'll say, "Right behind you." or "Lead on."

College of Winterhold | "So this is the fabled College of Winterhold. Amazing." |
Karthwasten | "I hope we don't bump into any Forsworn around here. I heard they're as wild as a pack of beasts." |
The Pale | "The Pale reminds me of the northern part of Solstheim... rife with freezing cold weather and full of unfriendly creatures." |
Falkreath | "I can't believe how carelessly the dead are buried here. I can't imagine my body just rotting away like that." |
Whiterun | "Whiterun... the pride of Skyrim. Doesn't look like much to me. Now Blacklight on the other hand, that's a proper city." |
Windhelm | "I lived in the Gray Quarter of Windhelm for years... it's a wretched place full of bitter Dunmer. Let's be done here quickly." |
Markarth | "Can you imagine what Markarth must have looked like when the dwarves were living here? I can't even begin to imagine." |
Solitude | "Solitude... home to the East Empire Company, the heartless bastards." |
Riften | "So this is Riften. Glover Mallory told me a good deal about the place. It looks exactly as I'd pictured." |
The Ratway | "You may want to be careful down here... the Thieves Guild makes the Ratway it's [sic] home." |
Dawnstar | "Dawnstar is full of struggling miners. Sounds a lot like a certain town in Solstheim, eh?" |
Morthal | "Ugh, what a wretched place. Who would build a town in the middle of a swamp?" |
Riverwood | "Riverwood looks peaceful. If I had to settle in Skyrim, this might be the place I'd choose." |
Orc Stronghold | "I was briefly in the employ of an orc warrior once. I had to quit because he refused to bathe. Disgusting." |
Player Home | "Nice place you have here. I never knew you were so wealthy." |
Vampire Lair | "Vampires are wretched beings. Feeding off of others the way they do... it's disgusting." |
Warlock Lair | "Warlocks practice all sorts of foul sorcery. We should proceed with caution." |
Animal Den | "Careful, it looks like something's lived here recently." |
Bandit Camp | "Damn bandits are worse than the vermin that infest the ash wastes back home." |
Dragon Lair | "Dragons, eh? Good, I was looking for a challenge." |
Draugr Crypt | "There are restless dead about... I suggest we proceed with caution." |
Dwarven Ruin | "The dwarves were a clever race. I wonder what happened to them?" |
Falmer Hive | "To think the Falmer are loosely related to the Dunmer sends shivers down my spine." |
Farm | "Not much of a farm. How do they expect to grow anything in this ash-free soil?" |
Forsworn Camp | "The Forsworn are little more than beasts. They won't listen to reason, so prepare for the worst." |
Giant Camp | "Ugh, the stench. We must be nearing a giant's home." |
Hagraven Nest | "Becoming a hagraven requires a sacrifice to their foul deity. Show them no mercy before we become one of the victims." |
Mine | "I never fancied becoming a miner... didn't want to spend the rest of my days cracking rocks." |
Shipwreck | "I wonder how many souls were lost when this ship met its fate." |
Spriggan Grove | "Spriggan are loathsome creatures. They summon some of the most benign beings of the forest and bend them to their will." |
Werewolf Lair | "What would possess someone to give their allegiance to Hircine, only to see their free will taken from them like this?" |
Solstheim | "Anytime you want to head for Skyrim, I'm right with you. I've spent enough time on Solstheim to last a lifetime." |
"Hope we don't run into too many ash spawn out here."
"I'm not sure why House Redoran is so insistent on maintaining Solstheim. Seems like more trouble than it's worth."
"With the ash from Red Mountain covering half the island, it's astonishing how much Solstheim reminds me of home."
Raven Rock | "I've called Raven Rock my home for a number of years. Azura knows why... it's a mess." |
"Seems like things are looking up in Raven Rock now that the mine's open. It's a nice change."
Tel Mithryn | "The Telvanni are amazing. Look what they've grown from the ash... have you ever seen anything like it?" |
Skaal Village | "How can the Skaal stand it up here? It's freezing!" |
Anywhere | "I'm glad that I'm finally traveling with someone who seems competent. My last patron was killed trying to tackle an entire fort of bandits alone." |
"I grew up in the city of Blacklight in Morrowind. If you ever get the chance, you should visit there... it's spectacular."
"I don't know why I decided to make my way to Solstheim to seek my fortune. I should have stayed home."
"You like my chitin armor? It was specially crafted for me by Grendis Rolovo... one of the finest master armorsmiths in Morrowind."
"All this walking... I wish there was a silt strider around here."
"I wonder what became of Saint Jiub? I met him once, you know."
"Our journey's been quite rewarding so far. Hopefully you won't mind sharing the spoils." |
Notes[edit]
- Teldryn will only equip headwear given to him that does not expose his face and has higher armor rating than his default chitin helmet.
- He is one of the two hirelings that cannot be married, the other being Erik the Slayer.
- Teldryn is one of very few followers who cannot be asked to become the steward of one of the manors added by the Hearthfire add-on.
- Teldryn is the only follower in the game that has the Armsman perk, which makes him more effective with one-handed weapons than the average follower.
- His maximum level is 60, which is the highest of all hirelings in the game, and 2nd highest of all followers in the game (excluding the followers with no level cap).
Bugs[edit]
- After being turned into a Blade, Teldryn may lose all dialogue options and can't be a follower.
- The Unofficial Dragonborn Patch, version 1.0.3, fixes this bug.
- Teldryn may become bugged and start blocking whenever his weapons are out, reducing his speed and usefulness significantly.
- When Teldryn has summoned a Flame Atronach, if you even slightly harm Teldryn, the Atronach will become hostile and attack you, even when Teldryn himself doesn't.
