Accessing Orc Strongholds[edit]
There is an additional way to gain access to all of the Orc strongholds in Skyrim (aside from being an Orc or completing the forgemasters fingers).
When completing the quest to clear the Forsworn from Kolskeggr mine there is an Orc miner [name needed] that lives with Scaggi Scarface. Upon completion of the mine quest, the Orc will thank you for helping, and tell you he "will send word to the strongholds that you are a friend".
You will be able to ride right into any of the strongholds after this without being challenged by the guards. This was on my first playthrough (xbox360). I was a Nord. — Unsigned comment by 71.226.207.41 (talk) at 09:51 on 18 December 2011

- The easiest way to do that, is to go to Karthwasten and convince Atar to leave. Lash gra-Dushnikh will grant you permission to strongholds. --Joshua.yathin.yu 07:59, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Killing an Orc Chieftan[edit]
Just for fun I opened the console and gave Chief Burguk an aggression of 3. He attacked me and I put him down. The whole tribe began to cower and yield. No conversation was available with them after that. Not sure how long that would last or if it would be permanent, so I reloaded an earlier save. --Tiger8u2 14:13, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
Invisible Alchemy table[edit]
The second alchemy table in the cellar is invisible to me. I can still use it fine but there's nothing there. Glitch worth noting? --Abyssal 21:22, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
- It is already mentioned in the article. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 21:39, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
Family tree[edit]
I think there are some things that are incorrectly assumed with the family tree displayed on this page. Compare it to the one I've created here. First, this one assumes that Lash's father is indeed Burguk, but that is as far as I know not indicated anywhere in the game or the CK. Gharol is her mother, true, and this is supported both by dialogue and the CK. But her father is never specified. It's possible that he was someone else, which would be a good explanation for why she's not exactly welcome in Dushnikh Yal anymore. This also ignores the possible connection to Lurbuk, though that admittedly is only in the CK (I think). I also added an unknown parent for Burguk, since Murbul is listed as his grandmother, though he may refer to her as "mother". Orcish families are kind of screwy. There's a lot that's really messed up here. TheRealLurlock (talk) 20:05, 12 February 2013 (GMT)
- I thought only Orc chiefs had the right to erm.. reproduce, so it kinda makes sense for Lash to be Burguk's daughter. She's not welcome into the stronghold because she abandoned their traditions and that's about it. As for the missing link between Murbul and Burguk, let's not forget that the family links in the game data is absolutely not reliable (see the Black-Briar family, or Balgruuf's son Nelkir marked as his brother). It's mentioned in-game that Ghorbash is his brother, and both Murbul and Burguk refer to each other as mother and son, I think we should stop at that. Elakyn (talk) 10:26, 13 February 2013 (GMT)

- Is there any in-game dialogue that supports Burguk being Lash's father? As you say, only the chief has the right to reproduce, but that doesn't mean that only the chief has the ability to reproduce. If Gharol had a child by another father (not unlikely given that Burguk seems to spend all his time with Shel), it's understandable she'd want to hide this fact from him. Arob[edit]
I found Arob standing in Rorikstead. I haven't found Dushnik Yal in this game. I don't know if this should be added in the bug section for Dushnikh Yal, or Arob's, or not at all, perhaps being an unspecific bug.Caralampio (talk) 23:31, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- What version of the game do you have? Do you have any mods or unofficial patches installed? —MortenOSlash (talk) 05:30, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
The reported bug where brawling with the chief causes the whole tribe to join in?[edit]
I would be prepared to bet a couple of chests of gold on the fact that this is most likely down to the bug reporter wearing either the Ebony Mail (from the Boethiah quest) or The Lord's Mail (from the Steam Creation Club). Both of these items damage attacking enemies, and in both cases it counts as (a) breaking the terms of a brawl and (b) an assault, turning it into a real fight and so the guy you were brawling with will draw his weapon and all his friends (and local guards) will join in on his side. This happened to me in friendly brawls with Benor (Morthal) and the Riften Stables guy (Riften Stables), in both cases resulting in huge bloodbaths which killed off every guard in the town and every NPC that was outdoors and preferred to fight rather than flee, especially when my follower started shooting them down... If this is the case, it's a bug with the two armours, not with the orc chieftain (or any other character) that you're brawling against. JLE 05:28, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
- It certainly wasn't with the Lord's Mail as the initial report and confirmation came years before the CC. The person who confirmed it, in my opinion, had some questionable testing methods, but I wouldn't think they would have forgotten that they were wearing the Ebony Mail while testing (or encountering) the bug. Brawls have been known to be broken elsewhere for no apparent reason, and it is most likely a legitimate bug. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 18:35, 15 May 2018 (UTC)

- Although here's an idea that could be worth testing: Could brawls be "broken" if you have a Follower is wearing the Ebony Mail (or Lord's Mail), even if the player isn't? Even if this bug is legit, it should be worth testing this. JLE 02:27, 27 May 2018 (UTC)

- That's just too big an assumption to be the cause for all the reported cases of broken brawling. Most brawls have had reports, from the Companions to Uthgerd to the drunk in Windhelm's inn. The reported things that have broken range from your opponent drawing a weapon, spectators running between you (just as you throw a punch which makes the crowd hostile), shields being regarded as unacceptable, or not paying you your winnings. The cause of all these bugs is not the Ebony Mail, and you don't know why this one broke. You cannot say that the tester and the person who confirmed it both wore the Mail, or that they had a follower wearing it. We have to trust the people who came before us to report these incidents taking into account anything they may have done accidentally to force it to happen. As with most bugs, they only happen some of the time, you could load a save to test this and it not occur in 100 tries, but someone else might have it happen every time they play, and someone else may have it only happen some of the times they attempt it. Mor Khazgul is bugged[edit]
- Discussion moved to Skyrim talk:Orc Strongholds#Mor Khazgul is bugged
Likely cause of the brawl bug[edit]
Bug - When accepting to brawl with Chief Burguk, the other members may fight you as if you have turned against them.
This bug is likely caused by having hostile animals nearby approaching the stronghold and the animals become hostile to the player/stronghold while brawling is still going on. Happened to me when brawling with the chief of Mor Khazgur. There are always two sabre cats nearby Mor Khazgur. If you brawl when the hostile animals approaching, the Orcs will have to defend the stronghold, coincide with you brawling, causing the brawl to turn hostile.
Just deal with hostile animals nearby first before brawling, then the bug won't happen. 110.159.97.109 14:19, 15 January 2022 (UTC)
