Nelara, an Old Ebonheart trader under pressure for protection money

Nelara is a Dark Elf trader and resident of the Old Ebonheart slums in the east of the city. During the events of the Thieves Guild quest, Facing Eviction, she comes under pressure from the goons of rising crimelord, Otrebus Delagia, and Wry-Eye Moranie will send you to intervene.

She wears a common shirt with matching skirt and shoes. She carries 6 gold.

Aside from her natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by her ancestors, she knows the following spells: Absorb Health (Ranged), Almalexia's Grace, Almsivi Intervention, Divine Intervention, and Telekinesis.

Dialogue[edit]

  • Delagia's gang:
(If you have started 'Infiltrating the Gang'):
"They are really bad people, %PCName. I'm scared of them..."
  • House Raathim:
"This is Old Ebonheart, the House's ancestral home. I'm sure that there still might be someone in this town with Raathim blood in her -- in their veins. Not me though. I'm just a beggar."

Thieves Guild: Facing Eviction[edit]

  • Greetings:
"Oh! You startled me! But you're not one of Mister Delagia's enforcers, are you?"
"If you can't help me, %PCName, I'm doomed."
(If you couldn't clear her debt):
"Please... Leave me alone..." Goodbye
  • Delagia's gang:
"Thank you for dealing with them for me, %PCName."
  • Nelara's debt:
"You're with the Guild? And you're going to help me? Oh, thank you, %PCName! I can't say how much exactly they think I owe them. Whenever they come to collect the rent they just... say an amount. One week it could be 50 septims, the next 150. Makes no sense to me. Last time they said I would have to pay them three thousand septims. I don't have that kind of money, so they said they'd give me a loan. It felt wrong, but they made it seem like I had no other choice. So, I borrowed the money from them."
  • Continue:
"I'm just a humble trader. I don't make much money. There's no way I could ever pay the gang back... And they are losing their patience with me. They will throw me out of my home, that's for sure. And I fear they will hurt me for this, %PCName. Could you... could you please... speak with the gang for me? Make them understand my situation? I'm too scared to do it myself. You can find them in Otrebus Delagia's house."
"Please... Speak with the gang for me. Explain that my situation is hopeless and that I simply can't pay them back. Make them understand. Their base is in Otrebus Delagia's house."
"You've spoken with the gang? How did it go?"
  • I'm still working on it.:
"I really appreciate you helping me, %PCName. You're a good person."
  • I give up. They're not going to forgive the debt.:
"Then I'm doomed. DOOMED! WHAT WILL I DO NOW, HUH!? I'm sorry. I don't blame you, friend. You tried your best, %PCName, I'm sure. Please. Leave me. I need to... do... something..." Goodbye (Disposition -15)
"My debt is settled? Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! You've saved me, %PCName. I can keep my home! Oh, what a joyful day! I have nothing to offer you as a reward, but I shall never forget this act of kindness. And please, extend my thanks to her highness as well. She certainly made the right call picking you for this task!" (Disposition +40)
"I shall never forget your kindness, %PCName."
(If you couldn't clear her debt):
"Please, don't remind me of that." (Disposition -5)
