ZeniMax Media Acquires id Software — June 24th, 2009

ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda, announced in a press release today that the company would be acquiring id Software, creators of smash-hit games such as DOOM, QUAKE, and Wolfenstein. The acquisition by ZeniMax Media combines the first person shooter expertise of id Software with acclaimed role playing game developer Bethesda Game Studios. Bethesda Softworks will publish the titles of id Software other than upcoming releases previously committed to other publishers.
