Bahtra at-Hunding was an enigmatic Redguard adventurer and teacher of combat skills known for her extensive repertoire and a reputation that drew the attention of numerous heads of state.[2]
History[edit]
Hammerfell[edit]
Bahtra hailed from the line of Hunding and was descended from a sword saint.[2][nb 1] Little is known of Bahtra's early life, but she eventually rose to prominence as a skilled adventurer. According to some Redguards, she honored her ancestral name. She spent time alongside Talia at-Marimah of the Ash'abah, studying methods to combat the undead plague. Although she previously also learned necromantic arts, she refrained from using them in Morwha's Bounty out of respect for her people's traditions.[2]
Valenwood[edit]
Her travels also brought her to Valenwood, where she attracted the attention of several notable figures. The Green Lady herself briefly discussed the intricacies of the Green as she studied the arts of the wardens. Gwaering briefly mentioned her to King Aeradan Camoran in correspondence otherwise focused on the threat the Dawnway movement posed to the unity of the Bosmeri people.[2]
Other Travels[edit]
She journeyed across Tamriel, finding herself in various places such as Riften in Skyrim, Dune in Elsweyr, and Daggerfall in High Rock.[1] The enigmatic Redguard also attracted the attention of Naryu Virian of the Morag Tong and Razum-dar, leader of the Eyes of the Queen. She trained with the Khajiit spymaster and spent time alongside Naryu Virian, demonstrating notable talents in bladework and assassination magic,[2] typical for the nightblades.[1] Bahtra also studied the arcanist arts under Martina Abor and accompanied them on an expedition to the Underweave in Apocrypha.[2]
Her talents drew the attention and even concern of various influential figures across Tamriel. At the request of his father, King Fahara'jad of Sentinel, Prince Azah, the acting guildmaster of the Fighters Guild compiled a dossier on her with the assistance of the Ring of Daggers. In the spirit of fostering peaceful collaboration between the Daggerfall Covenant, Aldmeri Dominion, and Ebonheart Pact for the organization of the Fellowship of Stirk, Azah shared this dossier with the leaders of the three alliances: King Emeric, Skald-King Jorunn, and Queen Ayrenn.
By 2E 582, she had mastered a wide range of combat styles and magical arts, capable of wielding and teaching abilities typical of nightblades, templars, wardens, sorcerers, necromancers, arcanists, and dragonknights.[1] During her travels, she may have even provided training to the Vestige, whose renowned reputation had caught her attention.[1][4]
