Lore:Ordained Receptacle

The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995

The Ordained Receptacle was a mysterious object (or a person) sought by Ada'Soom Dir-Kamal, the King of Kamal, during his campaign in Eastern Skyrim.[1]

History[edit]

In 2E 572,[2] the Second Akaviri Invasion began. A fleet originating from the Akaviri nation of Kamal, under the command of King Ada'Soom Dir-Kamal, invaded northern Tamriel during the Interregnum of the Second Era. Strangely, the Kamali fleet bypassed the Telvanni Peninsula, Vvardenfell, and Solstheim, sailing around the northeastern coast of Tamriel into the Sea of Ghosts. They made landfall at the mouth of the White River, just northeast of Windhelm.[1]

Nordic intelligence from the Kingdom of Eastern Skyrim reported that few captured Akaviri spoke Tamrielic, and most died under interrogation. One account mentioned that Dir-Kamal was searching for an item or a person or called the Ordained Receptacle. According to Yngmaer Raven-Quill, Royal Historian of the Bards College, this may have been a misinterpretation or a flawed translation. Its name suggested its importance to the Kamal. Whether they ever found it was unknown, but the invasion was ultimately repelled.[1]
