Kjer

Kjer is a Nord mead maker who can be found at Shor's Stand. She is responsible for making the local supply of mead, and likes to experiment with flavor profiles.

Dialogue

Speaking to Kjer behind the Wolf Hall before starting and after completing the related quest:

"An outsider? The village doesn't get a lot of you these days. Truthfully, that's how we like it.
I'd be careful about how you carry yourself and speak if I were you."

Quest-Related Events

After getting asked to assist by Ysmair, you can head into Shor's Stand to catch the end of Britt the Bold being lambasted by the Halls' Speakers for asking them to ally with the Stirk Fellowship.

Kjer will be one of the onlookers and pities Britt:

"I can't imagine how the poor woman must feel. Getting yelled at by all the speakers at once in front of the whole village? It didn't happen to me, but even I long for exile now."

If you speak with Kjer after talking to Britt but before going to Bear Hall:

"If you're looking for the Bear Hall, you're close. It's the next building."

After you have helped Speaker Hialf and Bear Hall, Speaker Frogirde of Feather Hall will challenge you and Britt to prove that you are willing to respect and learn about the customs of Shor's Stand's people. After reading the recipe you found, Britt will get the idea to recreate the Together Stew. She will send you out to find some of the ingredients and suggests you go to the local mead maker for the honey.

It will turn out Kjer is the mead maker, and she can be found behind the Wolf Hall. Speak with her to see if she is willing to give you some honey:

"The gods must have blessed that fancy-smocked newcomer. I just watched her stick both boots in her mouth while talking."

You're the mead maker? Do you have any honey I could borrow?

"Oh. I have one jar left, but I have plans for it.
Tell you what. The jar's yours if you sample the mead over there. Speaker Frogirde will only sell my mead at village gatherings if someone's tasted them first."

At this, you will have to taste test the three barrels of Kjer's latest creations. If you try talking to her before continuing:

"Go on. The mead won't kill you. Has some odd effects sometimes, and I can't always tell how strong it will be as it ferments. Flavor combinations can be challenging, too.
Please? No one in the Wolf Hall will help since that last batch tasted so bad."

Trying the Spiced Mead goes without comment, and trying the Wildflower Mead causes you to break out into a wild dance. But when you try the Berry Mead, your vision will go green as you wretch. Kjer comments on that one:

Kjer: "Is it really that bad?"

Once you have tried all three, you can speak to Kjer and give your verdict:

"Don't keep me in suspense here. Are my meads all right? Did you try them all?"

I tried all the meads.

"How were they? You acted … strangely after some of them.
No matter. Which one did you like best?"

The spiced mead.

"I figured as much from your reaction to it.
Well, you earned my last jar of honey. Try not to waste it. I'm not sure how much honey is left in this village now. I make a lot of mead."

The berry mead.

"Really? After you—never mind. I have to just believe your tastes.
Well, you did as I asked. Take this. It's the last jar of honey I have. I was going to use it to make some toadstool mead, but whatever you're making will probably taste better."

The wildflower mead.

"So the clover wasn't too strong of a flavor then. I'll keep that in mind.
Here. I promised you the last jar of honey if you tasted the meads and you did your part. Be careful with it! I'd hate to see it go to waste."

With the Jar of Honey in hand, you can continue with your creation of the stew.

Talking to her again afterwards:

"I know I have a friendly face, but I'm in the middle of something. If you wouldn't mind backing up and giving me some space, I'd appreciate it."^{[verification needed — see talk page]}

Kjer can later be found nearby as you serve the Speakers the Together Stew outside the Whale Splash Inn. Afterwards, Speaker Sogrard will challenge Britt to give a speeh. If Kjer is spoken to, she will comment:

"Is she really going to give a speech? I don't think I can watch this."

Later, Kjer can be seen in the Whale Splash Inn brawling with Gulruna.
