Dialogue[edit]

Speaking to Barogar at the fishing pier before starting the related quest:

"There's nothing here that concerns you. Anything that might be amiss is being taken care of."

Quest-Related Events[edit]

After getting asked to assist by Ysmair, you can head into Shor's Stand to catch the end of Britt the Bold being lambasted by the Halls' Speakers for asking them to ally with the Stirk Fellowship.

Barogar will be one of the onlookers and is amused by the scene:

"Ha! Here I thought it was going to be a boring day. But this made getting out of the house worth it!"

If you speak with Barogar after talking to Britt, you can ask him some questions:

"You're really going to go talk to Speaker Hialf? Your emissary friend isn't easily dissuaded, is she.
Well, good luck. I have a feeling you'll need it if the Bear Hall is asking for help."
Why didn't your village even listen to Britt?
"It's like Speaker Hialf said, we take care of our own problems. The Bear Hall is all the protection we need.
If you want me to stand with this Stirk group, then you'll have to talk to Speaker Hialf. Might be the only speaker you can talk to."
Why do you say that?
"Out of all the Speakers, Hialf is the only one who doesn't try to run every newcomer out of the village.
If you're serious about trying to get Shor's Stand on your side, you'll need the Speakers approval. Start with Hialf, trust me."

After you have helped Speaker Hialf and Bear Hall, Speaker Frogirde of Feather Hall will challenge you and Britt to prove that you are willing to respect and learn about the customs of Shor's Stand's people. After reading the recipe you found, Britt will get the idea to recreate the Together Stew. She will send you out to find some of the ingredients and suggests you go to the nearby lake for some "swimmer's scales".

Barogar is back at the fishing pier and can be asked for advice:

"Hawk's bones, it's lovely outdoors! With the beast gone, I can just enjoy the breeze instead of looking over my shoulder."
Is there good fishing in this lake? I need to get swimmers' scales for a feast.
"Swimmers' scales? You don't eat the scales, unless you like a little crunch. No, your recipe probably means the flesh.
Fishing's great here, if you have the right bait. Our lake's stocked with trout and they've a taste for crab bits."
The fish only like one type of bait?
"Good thing there's a lot of crabs around here.
Hope you're not squeamish like me. My brother keeps crab meat in our home so I don't have to kill anything. But it's mine! You can't have any."

To get the Coral Crab Meat, you can either steal it from Garthrik's House in the village, or take some from the Coral Crabs, at Farmer Hrolf's farmstead.

Once you have the bait, you can return to the small lake and reel in the Fish. Talking to Barogar during this:

"It doesn't matter that no one stands with our village, we don't need anyone else. The storm and the wind guide us. The gods watch us through animal's eyes.
We know who we are."

He can later be seen in the Whale Splash Inn brawling with Vor. Talking with Barogar once the brawl is ended:

"What excellent brawling technique!"[verification needed — see talk page]
