The isolated island of Solstice, off the southern coast of Tamriel, was mostly unknown or considered a cursed location by the mainlanders prior to the recent trouble with the revived Worm Cult. Now the Stirk Fellowship has opened the island to trade, diplomacy, and use as a staging ground.

Solstice is a remote tropical island in the Southern Sea, off the south coast of Murkmire. The isolation of the island is not just due to its location, but also due to the many storms in the surrounding seas. This contributes to Solstice's reputation of being cursed, with the remains of several shipwrecks can be found along its coasts, and tales of Daedric temple-cities found deep in the jungles.
The first known inhabitants of the island were the Tide-Born and Stone Nest Argonians whose arrival can be dated to pre-Duskfall times and their civilisations flourished for centuries. The Tide-Born living along the outer coast, and the more numerous Stone-Nest living in their xanmeer cities on the eastern side of the island. The Corelanyan High Elves found the island in 1E 723, and though their invasion force was thwarted a few years later, the clan ultimately established themselves on the coast of Sunport Bay in 1E 909 after being exiled from Summerset and founding the city of Sunport.
Solstice is a mix of jungle and sandy beaches, with both Argonian and Corelayan ruins found across the island. Of the unique creatures found on the island, there is the three-toed sloth found in the jungles and the Vahath behemoths, feathered Argonian behemoths created by ancient magic. There are also the Voskrona Guardians, stone constructs built by the ancient Argonians which guard the ruins of old settlements. Along the coast, massive shells and skeletal remains of giant reptiles can be found in the sand dunes and shallow waters. Solstice also has significantly large deposits of bismuth which can be seen in the various caves and mines of the island.
Solstice can be split into two regions, Western and Eastern Solstice with a mountain range in the center providing a natural delineation. However, in recent times, any movement between the two regions has been blocked by the appearance of the Writhing Wall, a large barrier made of necrotic energy which has blocked all the roads and passes that were once used for travel. The Wall is the fault of the resurgent Worm Cult who have come to the island to delve into its secrets. This has been answered by the Stirk Fellowship, whose arrival has opened Solstice up to greater trade and diplomacy with the mainland.
